Laser Cutting
How do I get started?
- Prepare your drawings and send them to us. A helpful resource that provides detailed information on the preparation and transmisison of drawings is available for viewing, downloading, or printing.
- We will give you a price via e-mail in a timely manner.
- The price is approved and you authorize work by either using paypal or by sending us a check. If you're supplying your own material, you need to send that to us as well.
- As soon as we receive payment (within minutes if you use paypal) we schedule your job for cutting. In most cases, your parts will be cut and shipped within two business days.
- You receive your product and tell all your friends what a great service we provide.
If there is a question about what the laser cut will look like on your material, simply send us a piece, we'll cut something out and send it back. On some materials the laser leaves a black edge, which is often desirable.
The laser has the capability of making depth cuts or marking/scoring without cutting through the material. This is great for marking assembly positions or for adding details to visual products. The process is faster than engraving, thus more cost effective. Depth cuts work great for a small amount of text and can be done at the same time as the through cuts. This process does not replace high quality laser engraving though it is often the best way to achieved the desired result.
NOTE: When creating your drawings use a distinct color to denote score lines or text in the drawing. Sometimes scoring is made more visible by wiping color into the line, or by making the line itself broader.
