Laser engraving is truly an exciting area due to the near limitless applications. We can laser engrave graphics, text and even photographs on a wide variety of materials, even materials we are unable to laser cut. BC Laser Works can even Laser Mark on metal!
Our hi-powered laser has an 8-inch clearance under the head. This generous clearance increases the number of practical applications for laser engraving. BC Laser Works can engrave on boxes, large slabs of wood, and even 3-Dimensional Objects. A relatively flat surface is optimal, although we have laser engraved photographs onto baseballs.
A word about laser engraving photographs
The best way to ensure high quality results and a quick turn around begins with the photograph itself. If at all possible, send us a large format (1280px x 960px or larger), digital photo in either *.jpeg/*.jpg, *.tiff, or a high resolution *.bmp format. If that is not possible we will try to work with the best image you have and can tell you before the work is performed whether a good result seems likely. Send us your digital format on any storage device (memory stick, CD, CD-RW, etc.) or email us at jos...@bclaserworks.com
If necessary, we will work from a printed photograph as well. In this case, be sure the area of the photograph you want engraved has a clean outline and is a good size. A distinct contrast with the background of the photograph makes cropping the image easier after we have scanned it into the computer. If you are using a studio photograph, be sure you have permisison to use their work.
