We have the ability to cut custom gear sets of almost any size. We can cut "spur" gears and ring gears. All we need to know is the size of the gears, the number of teeth (or the pitch of the gear), and what hole pattern you want for mounting the gears. We will eventually get a nice online form for you to fill out, but in the mean time, you can just send us a note from the contact page.

Our material of choice for gears is polypropylene. It's a very tough material, cuts well, and also has nice friction properties. I don't know that I'd make a car transmission out of the stuff, but it works well for a wide range of robotic projects. 3/16" thick works well for gears from about 1" in diameter on up. Other thicknesses and materials are, of course also available.
